The Wire

Watch it. It may be a bit hyperbolic to say this, but the show serves as one of the best social commentaries of the current generation. Even if viewers can’t relate to the police investigative plot or have no interest in the drug-related crime syndicates portrayed, the politics of the government institutions be it police offices, city councils, labor unions, and public schools remain a fascinating staple of the series throughout the four seasons that I’ve seen thus far (out of five).

So, yeah, watch it.
